We all know that the Social Security System is not going to be viable when the baby boomers start to retire. You would have to be ignorant or deceitful to not know this. That is why I am so glad that Maria Cantwell chose to run her ads attacking Mike McGavick on his ideas to reform the system. It is easy to attack someone else’s plan when you have none of your own. I remember Mr. McGavick talking about “gotcha” politics. There are some people who want to solve problems, and some people who just want to get reelected. Some people want to ignore the facts, don’t give solutions – just take cheap shots at the opposition, and believe the electorate is too ignorant to see behind the manipulation.
I want a senator that will be a problem-solver, not someone who stands in the way of solutions. I don’t want someone who thinks I am too stupid to realize when we have a problem that needs to be fixed. Thank you Ms. Cantwell, for making this so clear.
