roe City Councilmen Marc Mechling and Tony Balk both have continually supported quality communities. Mechling’s and Balk’s sincere and tireless efforts for well-planned growth can be seen in what they have accomplished while in office.
A list would include but not be limited to: assuring developers pay their fair share of the costs of public parks and schools as the city grows, advancement of a critical areas ordinance that will protect human and wildlife habitats, increasing the time for citizens to comment on land use projects and making sure all of Monroe’s code met state standards in order to save the taxpayer money from frivolous law suits.
I have had the opportunity to work with both of them in the past on key community issues. They do their homework on the issues and keep promises. These two guys are ethical and fair and will always listen to their constituents. People who care about the future of the City of Monroe will cast their vote for Mechling and Balk on Nov. 4.
