The issue of whether to invade or launch strikes against Iraq is indeed a difficult one and simply stresses how imperative it is President Bush has the kind of information and advisers he needs. This country needs congressmen and senators with the expertise, experience and the ability to understand and analyze the intelligence the CIA has been gleaning from Iraq. There is simply no better person for such a job than Herb Meyer, candidate for U.S. Congress in the 2nd District.
Mr. Meyer is the former special assistant to the director of the CIA and former vice chairman of the National Intelligence Council. For his outstanding work during the Cold War he was awarded the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal, the intelligence community’s highest honor. No other candidate in this race, regardless of party affiliation, has the background and experience this district needs in such uncertain times.
ppearing with Rep. Rick Larsen at a Veterans of Foreign Wars dinner in Arlington in July, Herb Meyer discussed the causes of the current conflict as well as the strategy needed to win. When Mr. Meyer had concluded his remarks, Rep. Larsen then told the group that he agreed with Mr. Meyer.
We in the 2nd District have a serious choice to make about the future of our country as well as our district. It is clear that Herb Meyer is the only choice for the 2nd District in 2002.
