Charles Krauthammer strikes again. He seems to find it strange that we are being asked to intervene in Libya but were denounced for intervening in Iraq. (Friday column, “Uprisings vindicate Bush Doctrine.“)
He actually used the phrase “A strange moral inversion.” Coming from him this is almost meaningless. He goes on to describe the “terrible swift sword of the United States” putting an end to Saddam’s regime as if this was the actual reason we invaded and states “it took all of three weeks.”
He must be referring to the infamous declaration of “Mission Accomplished” by Bush from the deck of the aircraft carrier, after which the body count continued to pile up for years.
Does Krauthammer truly think the Iraqi people are better off now? Because they have democracy?
I want to live in his galaxy. They probably still have Santa and the Tooth Fairy.
