In an Oct. 26 letter, the writer attempted to imply the most qualified candidate between Mike Cooper and Renee Radcliff Sinclair was Renee because of gender. I am an independent voting woman and I am voting for Mike Cooper because he is the most qualified.
Women get elected because of their superior background and qualifications, not just because they are women. Women ought to be outraged at the implications made in this letter. We need a council member who will fight for issues that matter to women, such as safe and affordable housing for seniors, the disabled and minorities.
If you put these two candidates’ legislative records next to one another it is clear who will represent us best on issues that matter. That is why as a woman and an independent, I am voting for Mike Cooper.
