Military personnel, families deserve thanks

I would like to thank Mike Brandvold for his “Price of Freedom” letter in the Feb. 14 Herald. My husband is a Vietnam vet having served in the Army between 1968 and 1972. At that time, the anti-war sentiment was very strong. My husband served in Vietnam in 1970 – 1971. After coming back from Vietnam, he was spit upon by a civilian employee at Fort Lewis who were in-processing him and other soldiers who had just returned from Vietnam.

I, too, offer my thanks to all who have served and are now serving in the Armed Forces of the U. S. to keep us safe. I also thank their families as I know it is really hard on them. I have family and friends serving now in the Armed Forces. I am glad society has turned around and are letting the military know they have our support
