I am hoping that you will publish this letter enabling me to thank the unknown folks who came to the rescue of my 17-year-old daughter.
On Aug. 19, my daughter was driving from our home near Wenatchee to her grandparents’ home in Granite Falls when she drove over a rock near Zeke’s Drive Inn and blew both tires on the passenger side of her car. She was panicking when she called me on her cell phone because it was around 9 p.m. and she was alone on the highway.
Many cars drove past my daughter, but the person that stopped to help was a gentleman who was on crutches and attempted to push her car off of the highway by hand. He then proceeded to try to change her rear tire. He stayed with her until Trooper Janson Knott arrived and told him that it was OK for him to leave. I don’t know the name of this wonderful guardian angel, but would like to thank him fro the bottom of my heart.
As a mother, your greatest fear is of something terrible happening to your child while they are traveling alone. We hear so many stories lately of child abductions and murders but not of the times that some unknown individual is willing to take the time and the risk to help a child.
My heartfelt thanks to this wonderful individual who was willing to help my child and keep her safe.
