I appreciate your August 13 editorial (“If players strike, fans will scream, ‘Yer outta here’”) condemning the thoughtless, greedy Mariners for the thoughtless little boys that they are (as I see it). I hope and pray that those who watch them will recognize the damage these ballplayers do. The money used to support them (tax money) could be much more wisely spent on healthcare for the same children they claim they care about.
It is so cruel for ballplayers to show such total disregard for the people of Washington state in their efforts to behave just like the CEOs of the corporations, hellbent on taking money that they are not justly entitled to. I hope those who currently watch them will see how wrong it is and stop.
