I’m wondering if our local, county and state law enforcement agencies realize the value of the cash cow they’re missing. Do they realize the lost revenues that could be generated by the traffic mess at the intersection of 172nd NE and Smokey Point Boulevard? I have no idea of the cost of paying for a ticket for running a red light, making an illegal turn, or blocking an intersection, but I’ll bet that money could be put to good use in putting a dent in the ever increasing costs to keep up our roads. These infractions happen on a daily basis. I try to avoid that intersection whenever possible because of the mess, but when I do travel through and see these continuing infractions, I have yet to see the law enforcers. Maybe they’re all too busy doing news stories on how drivers’ pocketbooks will suffer if they do over 60 between Marysville and Smokey Point on I-5.
