On Tuesday the president vetoed the Keystone XL Pipeline bill. I see Patty Murray voted against the bill when it came through the Senate. Had she voted “yes” along with more of her party, dangers to our state could have been avoided.
Patty’s no vote meant she was more interested in running the 19 oil trains in Washington state daily through our towns and cities and beside our beautiful waterways like the Columbia River. The fact we bring oil into this state to be exported overseas is where she felt money over safety was more important.
Patty will be up for reelection in 2016. You have two years to decide if the oil money is worth more than the lives of your children, your relatives, or your recreational areas along our waterways. I prefer to fry my fish in vegetable oil. Not fish for those already polluted with oil train spills. How much of the money Murray hopes to get into the state will be needed to clean up train derailments in our waterways, or heaven forbid if they derail and destroy a small town taking many lives with it?
The government predicts that 10 trains a year will derail over the next two decades. Is this what you hope to see here in our state?
Now is the time to look for a Patty Murray replacement. I want a person who puts the people’s safety over money. She has again sold us out.
