The lead story about Trump’s tax returns in the New York Times seems, at first blush, to tell us nothing we didn’t already know or suspect: He’s been far better at losing money than making it And he kept his hands clean by having a lot of other people or entities available to do the dirty work.
It’ll take awhile to definitively shake out any unethical and illegal doings, but the process has probably been accelerated by making the information public, rendering the point of legal maneuvering moot.
