More lanes, not less speed, needed

An engineer would look at the traffic increase past Marysville and suggest adding another lane to handle the flow. Not so for our local politicians and planners. Their solution is to decrease traffic flow by 10 mph and problem solved! Now after we widen I-5 through Everett we will have the pleasure of backing up in Marysville.

When is someone in this state going to understand that more freeway is needed through Everett and Marysville and give us some real capacity instead of the communistic cramming of bus and HOV lanes onto us that have done nothing for the past 30 years to alleviate the situation for the average person? Every “solution” the state comes up with seems to involve punishing the public instead of actually methodically solving the problem or dealing with reality. How many more years of this torture are we going to have to endure?
