Regarding Kenneth Pendell’s letter on our country’s “globalization plot” and our unwillingness to give the United Nations power in Iraq (“Iraq: It’s the first step in globalization plot,” Oct. 10):
The U.N. has no power to give. The U.N. is an organization of words and failed resolutions. Read up on the differences in the rebuilding of Germany and Japan after WWII and you will understand why we wish to stay the course in Iraq. If you can’t tell the difference then you are only on these pages to spout off typical liberal anti-Bush propaganda. Since you are wondering, the next country on our globalization tour will be Cuba. No, Syria. No, Iran. No, Liberia.
