Regarding Bob J. Keithley’s Jan. 14 letter to the editor, “U.S. situation: Country worse off thanks to Bush”: I want to thank him for his service to this great country. It is because of his sacrifice that we are able to write letters and show our freedom of speech.
However, why do liberals claim that George Bush was not elected to the presidency? Do you not know the process of our presidential election? George Bush is our president. He was elected, and Gore took the case to court. But that was the past and we shouldn’t dwell in the past. It sounds like Keithley wishes that Gore was our president. The same Gore who supported Bush in the war in Iraq and the same Gore who stabbed his own running mate (Sen. Joe Lieberman) in the back by endorsing the most left-wing fanatic Democratic hopeful, Howard Dean.
George Bush has made this country safer by sending our troops to Iraq. If you ask most of our servicemen the same question, they would overwhelmingly support the commander-in-chief in his decisions.
