Regarding the Tuesday article, “Brothers’ fight led to death, police say”:
To me there’s a definite line between good, responsible news reporting and the invasion of privacy. You have certainly crossed that line. Family disputes bring much sorrow and anguish to a family and often leave life-long scars. Your insensitivity to this large extended family lacks care and compassion. The healing time for the Hillis family surely will be lengthened by your lack of concern for their plight.
You seem to have known that their struggles had a history which you exploited in your article. I hope that your future reporting of family tragedies will show much more compassion and respect.
