On April 10, page B2 had an Associated Press article about the sad murder in Ocean Shores of a baby girl. The last sentence — “They are accused of killing the baby girl and leaving it in a wooded area.” Leaving it? How sad it is that society today sees a newborn baby as an “it.” If these sick individuals had murdered an adult in the same premeditated fashion, they certainly would be being held on more than assault and manslaughter charges. I suppose that it’s hypocritical of me to be sad at this crime considering our country advocates abortion as a form of birth control, but come on, don’t you think once the baby is passed the birth canal the baby could be at least called “she?” Maybe give her the same rights as any other human living in this country?
