President Biden on Jan. 13 mentioned the importance of preserving religious freedoms and minorities abroad like the Ahmadiyya Muslim community. However, just two days earlier nine horrific murders of Ahmadis were carried out by religious extremists in Burkina Faso.
These unfortunate losses of innocent lives only further represent a disturbing trend of violence against Ahmadi Muslims from South Asia, to the Middle East and North Africa, and now West Africa.
The killing of any innocent human, especially attacking worshipers, is antithetical to the very nature of Islam and must be condemned. There is no place for such acts of unjustified violence in religion.
