I think it’s sad that the symphony’s Explore Music Program might shut down. (Oct. 30 article, “Kids missing out on symphony.”) Ms. Olsen’s quote, “Music is the foundation, the springboard that can enhance all learning,” is really true. I think that if we didn’t have music, my Dad wouldn’t have gotten me into great rock music, plays would be boring, and my teacher, Mrs. Pawley, couldn’t teach us some songs to help us with math. The show was fun and my favorite part was when they played “Pirates of the Caribbean.” I wonder what would happen if it does close down.
