I’ll take genetically engineered fries with that: A hamburger patty made of meat grown from cattle stem cells was fried up and tasted by a couple of brave souls in a public event Monday in London. Tasters reported the test tube meat was edible but bland and a little weird.
In other words, it tasted like the ground beef that’s been served for decades in school cafeterias.
McStrike: Several thousand fast-food workers across the nation staged protests last week, calling for a $15-per-hour federal minimum wage. In response, industry officials placed a newspaper ad suggesting that higher wages could force them to replace humans with robots.
And perhaps that will be appropriate if they replace actual beef with test-tube beef.
