I wholeheartedly agree with the following statement published in the June 7 article, “Road ban in forests may become law”:
” ‘It’s time for the Congress to act on behalf of future generations who deserve the opportunity to enjoy these precious lands,’ said Jane Danowitz, director of the Heritage Forests Campaign, a national alliance of organizations working to protect national forests.”
But please understand that it is all people in those future generations who deserve to use the land, not just the environmentalists. With proper land management there is no reason multiple use groups cannot co-exist without detriment to the environment. A “back-country” designation would do just that. Preserve our natural resources for the public, not from the public.
Yes, it is time for Congress to act. I could not agree more. How long will Rep. Rick Larsen continue to ignore is constituents on this issue?
