Of course, cleaning up the air and water should be of great priority. And it is of no surprise that politicians are always seeking approval to further burden the middle-class with additional taxes as the only means of solving anything. But are scare tactics necessary?
The contributing effect of man-made exhaust on global warming is debatable. Initiative 1631 proponents use this as a tactic. Numerous meteorologists disagree with people like Al Gore who use the weather as a means of psychological control. Yes, the weather has changed. But heat waves of greater intensity and duration have been recorded within the last 100 years in the U.S. and Europe.
As for the increase in hurricanes, air temperature has much less effect on hurricane formation than does the direct bombardment of solar radiation on the surface of the Atlantic Ocean. With this, maybe Al Gore and his dedicated followers should mandate taxes to send water tanks into the sun to cool its surface.
