The Herald keeps us informed and amused. We laughed out loud when we looked at the photo about fire safety and smoke detectors on the front page of the Thursday local section and read the caption: “The Monroe Fire Department works with Domino’s Pizza to reward residents who have changed their batteries with free pizza.” We’d like to see a demonstration of how someone uses a pizza to change a battery! Isn’t that a rather messy way to do it?
We think you meant that the Fire Department and Domino’s give free pizza to residents who change the batteries in their smoke detectors. Is the copy editor on vacation?
In the words of linguist James J. Kilpatrick: “Read your copy, read your copy, read your copy.”
