Nelson exemplifies good governance

When I think of good governance, I think of Gary Nelson.

Gary Nelson is the very picture of a dedicated public servant. Many hold office primarily for the purpose of being bathed in the personal privilege of elected office. Gary Nelson, however, stands in very sharp contrast to that picture of selfishness; he is a county councilman because he has the heart and the track record of being a public servant. His experience as a state representative and state senator provide tremendous skill and insight into the workings of legislative machinery.

Besides having the dedication, experience and the skill to accomplish the tasks of his office, Gary Nelson is genuinely concerned for all the people of Snohomish County. He has made tough decisions as a county councilman but always with an eye to what best helps the citizenry and what is most fair among the choices at hand.

Gary Nelson’s opponent is a wannabe. He has a nice slogan but his record of accomplishments compared to that of Gary Nelson’s, display Gary Nelson’s in crimson relief. In fact, his slogan more aptly fits Gary Nelson than any other candidate or elected official that we now have.

I urge my fellow voters not to just take my word or anyone else’s word in deciding this race. Investigate the records of both candidates, ask the tough questions. Make the comparison and evaluate the results of that comparison. And then vote for good governance.
