I am extremely upset with Rep. George Nethercutt’s current TV ad saying that Sen. Patty Murray is a supporter of terrorist Osama bin Laden. Our elected representatives must be able to speak their mind about current topics. They must not be afraid that their comments will be taken out of context and turned against them in the future. Sen. Murray was making valid comments about how Osama bin Laden works with the Muslims in poor areas to establish goodwill and gain support for his cause. It irritates me that it is now the norm for candidates to twist what their opponents have said in the past for purposes of political attack. These types of attacks are what turn many Americans off to participating in the political action arena.
