The letter “Regulations will harm innovation” about net neutrality, is to put it kindly, a wealth of misinformation. Net neutrality has been pretty much the status quo until recently.
Companies like Verizon, AT&T and Comcast, which have near monopoly status, feel threatened by video streaming services like Netflix. Netflix has offered this service for less than what said ISP providers do.
These companies have attempted to stifle competition by either throttling the traffic or charging the streaming companies higher prices, which get passed onto the consumer.
I have been in the telecommunications business for 36 years. Ten of those years were spent working for Verizon. I know of which I speak.
