I am retired Navy and have made Marysville my home for more than 15 years. In that time I have seen a lot of growth, with more coming every day. I hear folks talk about the new school construction bond and say we don’t need it. Well, we do need it and more!
I suppose these folks would still have kids going to school at the old Kellogg Marsh one-room school house if they had their way – surrounded by portables.
Buildings get old and need updating. Sometimes we outgrow them and need more. Imagine 20-30 kids going in and out of your house 180-plus days a year for more than 30 years and you get the idea of why remodeling some buildings is necessary.
Maybe these same folks are thinking of their own pockets, but I understand the cost would be about the same as it has been over the last 10 or so years.
So to me, it’s simple – vote yes.
