We wish the new five-lane road around the east side of Silver Lake had been designed like the Mill Creek expansion, with plantings next to the road and a nice pathway with benches.
We had hoped we would get something to showcase the beauty of the lake. What a disappointment! They have walled off the lake with a cement barrier that in most places completely blocks the view of the lake. And we wonder how many kids will break an arm or a leg climbing over the barrier to get to the water. The cement walls put the lake off-limits to the people and provide a perfect canvas for graffiti. It’s already begun. Whose job will it be to keep the walls clean?
A much better design could have been done. We’re very disappointed.
