I just read the article concerning turning the railroad line from Renton to the heart of Snohomish County into a trail system. Wouldn’t it make more sense to convert it into a commuter line? The line connects to the BNSF railroad on both ends and could be put into service a lot sooner than building a new railroad system, which is not to say we don’t need a light rail line up the I-5 corridor too.
Oh, I forgot. It doesn’t connect to the Bellevue mall, where not every one wants to go anyway. It could connect to Sea-Tac airport or even Microsoft, where people actually want or need to go.
