For the last six years, those of us in the 32nd Legislative District have been represented by Maralyn Chase. And, for the last six years, Chase has continually proven to be on the opposite side of the interests of the people in the 32nd District, often to the point that individuals within her own party get angry. She has been an enemy of small business and has continually failed to hold failing schools accountable. On top of that, she introduced HB 3111 in 2004, which consisted of a big-government, authoritarian recommendation that all but mandated that couples have two or fewer children. Unfortunately, there never has been a good candidate to challenge our anti-small business representative, who likes to tell me how many kids I can have.
But this year is different; newcomer Alex Rion has the energy, motivation and capability to unseat the weak Rep. Chase in the strongly Democratic 32nd District. I will proudly cast my vote for Alex Rion, who will protect small business and jobs, hold our public schools accountable, and represent the interests and liberties of the individuals and families in the 32nd District well.
