In reading The Herald I was excited to see that Everett’s minor league sports family might soon be growing. (June 21 article, “International basketball league expanding to county?”)
There are many ways to tell how well Everett is doing and one of them is by number of professional sports teams that it hosts. The Everett Explosion has two strengths already in place that will help make it a successful minor league team.
The first strength is its parent league – the International Basketball League. In the minor league industry, the IBL has a great reputation among fans, sponsors and team owners. It is a league whose leadership regularly makes great decisions for its franchise owners.
Most important is the team’s second strength, which is team owner Nathan Mumm. Nathan has a passion for basketball, a good head for business and is a solid member of the community. The fact that he is local to Snohomish County (Marysville) will without a doubt help in making Everett Explosion games another great option for family entertainment in Everett.
