Boeing is like a wayward spouse, once they decide that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, the current spouse will never be able to provide enough incentives to stay.
Boeing lost its roots in the late 1990s when the only thing that mattered anymore was satisfying investment analysts. Its main resource — people — became secondary and Boeing started treating them like a “desk” — dispensable!
Everett and Washington will never be able to provide enough tax breaks and concessions — Boeing has forgotten how to stand on its own feet and compete in the marketplace.
You can’t live with threats of leaving and my response to that threat is, “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out” — and then I move on. Maybe, Everett and Washington should help Boeing pack their bags. Heck, we could even buy them a one way ticket on a Boeing airplane.
