I was sickened when I read the Dec. 12 letter, “Why wage war with our president?” No one has shot at, bombed or murdered “our president”! I would wager that the writer has never heard anyone “delight “in bad news out of Iraq. We invaded Iraq.
There were no terrorists there when we invaded, or WMDs, or pleas for democracy. Iraqis risk their lives because they support various religious beliefs, or service is the only job they can find. Seventy-three percent of Iraqis want us out of the country. We lost when we went in. Our troops are being killed for a lie.
How dare the writer say we insult the troops? I want them to do their duty and protect America from our foes based on the real threat. The life of any one of our troops is worth as much as the life of “our” president or his ilk who sent us into this war. Evil has a face. It’s the face of those who lied us into Iraq.
