When I read about politicians suggesting we ban or restrict access to birth control, I was horrified. To my mind, it is morally wrong for some people’s faith/values to impinge on the personal choices of the majority. If you don’t believe in birth control, don’t use it.
In the next election, conservative incumbents will be challenged by members of their own constituency because they are not conservative enough! If that doesn’t scare you, it should.
I hope fiscally conservative voters will take into consideration the social agenda of the far right. I honor the people who hold strong religious beliefs, but when they want to force everyone to abide by their convictions, we should not be electing them to power. We need only look back in history, or at Middle-Eastern countries controlled by religion-based, ultra-conservative regimes, to see what can happen to our country.
