I love it when I read or hear a story about people who rush out and buy a new hybrid car to combat the rising fuel costs. I mean, these cars cost anywhere between $20,000 and $25,000 and these people actually think they’re saving money. Not to mention you still have to put gas into most of these vehicles.
So let’s see, spend tens of thousands of dollars on a hybrid and go longer between fill-ups. Or save or invest your tens of thousands of dollars and just pay the increase in fuel costs for the time being. Because gas prices will go up, down, up, and back down many more times before these people see any savings with a hybrid vehicle at their current prices.
I think the government should give every family in America a hybrid vehicle. Then families pump more money into the economy with the money they’ve saved and the pollution levels start to drop. Kill two birds with one stone. I know, that will happen when … freezes over.
