Noise from planes would be only gain

Your Thursday editorial stated, “Since it appears that regional air service out of Paine Field could be a viable business, the county is studying what kind of terminal would be needed.” Where are the factual studies to show there are actual gains to someone that makes it viable?

Where is the gain in attracting the types of business that will move into the area based on having a few flights to Las Vegas?

Where is the gain to the commuter who must take a smaller and slower aircraft from Paine Field to San Francisco?

Where is the gain to the commuter in having a layover, to reach a destination currently served by direct flights out of SeaTac?

Where is the gain to the commuter of reduced schedule opportunities, to whatever destination, out of Paine Field as compared to SeaTac?

Where is the gain to the airline that must now alter its aircraft inventory to accommodate the fewer passengers out of SeaTac and a handful out of Paine Field?

Where is the gain to the airline that must now have flight, counter and ground crews supporting activities at two fields within 32 miles of each other?

Where is the gain in shifting ground traffic from the I-5, I-405 and newer types of transportation corridors to the streets around Paine Field?

Where is the gain? An undisputable gain will be in the noise of aircraft overhead that the area currently does not have. Will the people who have factual data to support any gain from having commercial air traffic out of Paine Field please step forward and present their numbers?
