Regarding the Nov. 22 editorial, “Transit options are getting more attractive”: I wish that were so in my situation. After starting a new job across the street from the Northgate Park and Ride, I researched the possibility of riding the bus. I live near the Everett Transit Center and what could be easier, right?
Wrong! There are no straight shots from the Everett Transit Center to Northgate. I would have to take the bus from Everett to downtown Seattle and then return to Northgate, or transfer in Lynnwood and go to Bellevue and then on to Northgate. Two hours later I could be at work.
Dick Harrell of Community Transit was kind enough to reply to an e-mail questioning this. He informed me that Sound Transit canceled the 505 and 506 routes (Northgate to Everett) a couple of years ago due to lack of ridership. Well, hopefully there are more eager transit riders who are interested in this route and we can get it back on line. Or maybe Community Transit could take the run this time around?
