OK. Chris Cornell was a great musician in a great band, but enough already. Regular people die everyday of suicide and they barely get one line in the paper. Maybe more if they have people who care for them. Where is their two weeks of news?
A family member suffers from severe mental illness and has attempted suicide five times in her life, including three weeks ago in jail. Maybe the next time, she’ll be successful. Where will her write-up be? And let me state: She is there because of harassment, not drugs. She can’t help what she says because she is so sick.
The reason why she is so sick is because her health care provider dropped her for missing one appointment. They they eventually stopped giving her medication. She nose-dived since, and is in jail. Getting no help there either. I though places like her nonprofit provider were supposed to help people, not turn their backs.
The mental health support in this state is terrible. No open beds anywhere. And if it wasn’t for me, taking care and supporting her the last 10 years, she would die in the street.
It’s about time regular people get the help they need and deserve. My relative is a good person, with a good heart, but she suffers from a terrible affliction. Where the heck is her write-up and support, besides me.
