Not-so-merry men

And don’t forget Daffy Duck as Robin: Herald film critic Robert Horton says Ridley Scott’s “Robin Hood,” starring Russell Crowe is a “mostly serious approach” with “historical heft.” Somehow, Horton resists the temptation to stand this “Hood” up against Kevin Costner’s 1991 “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.”

Well, if Horton won’t, we will. The earlier “Robin Hood” fails on three counts: the Bryan Adams theme song, Costner’s Midwest accent and his mullet haircut.

  • Gonna need a bigger nest: A survey of Americans ages 18 to 29 finds that many of them are living with their parents longer and are getting significant financial support from their families.

This generation of Americans is being referred to as “millennials” — not because they became adults at the turn of the century but because it seems like a thousand years pass before they move out.

  • Keep on the sunny side: Solar panels are being installed on top of a Snohomish County administration building that eventually will be used to charge a fleet of electric vehicles.

Considering recent events, we want some assurance that the county has plans in place, in the event of an accident, to clean up all the sunlight that spills from a damaged solar panel.

FILE — Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. speaks alongside President Donald Trump during an event announcing a drug pricing deal with Pfizer in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, Sept. 30, 2025. Advisers to Kennedy appear poised to make consequential changes to the childhood vaccination schedule, delaying a shot that is routinely administered to newborns and discussing big changes to when or how other childhood immunizations are given.
