In response to the Sunday letter about having no luck in finding produce at local markets. I went to Monroe’s Farmers Market on Tuesday. It was wonderful, with lots of booths and very nice and helpful vendors. I approached many of them and asked if their products were from the local area. Many, many of them were from the valley, such as Monroe, Snohomish and Duvall. I bought lettuce that was grown in our valley and many other fresh vegetables. I even bought a planter filled with flowers from a lady who makes them and lives in Gold Bar. Kurt’s Produce sold all of his strawberries in minutes. People have to remember we are lucky to have anything homegrown due to our weather and a very tough spring. I’d like to compliment everyone there from the great music to the beautiful flowers that are locally grown. It is a truly great asset to our community.
