On Aug. 16 I found myself in a terrible traffic jam on Everett Avenue. After spending three hours to move eight blocks, my car was overheating and so was I. I also had a very ill family member I needed to get home to care for.
I used my cell phone to call the Everett Police Department. Within 10 minutes three officers arrived. One of the officers came over and talked to me concerning my call.
The three officers started directing traffic at the intersections and in 15 minutes I was on the freeway.
I sincerely want to thank these officers for a great job – well done!
I was amazed at their efficiency, as I’m sure the other motorists there with me were too.
I would have submitted this sooner but due to the loss of a family member I haven’t had time.
The city of Everett can be thankful to have officers such as these three, taking care of the city.
I also suggest that any future scheduling of road construction in and around Everett by the state Department of Transportation should be set up with the agreement of local police agencies. They know the local traffic flow and problems the best.
