One has to wonder the motivation behind Rep. Hans Dunshee’s shortfused and fervent attempts to remove a historical highway marker from our public lands. Sounds to me like ethnic and historical cleansing. Is this any different from the Taliban reducing centuries old statues to rubble in Afghanistan?
If Washingtonians really believe that whitewashing the canvas is the answer, then let one of the many Civil War museums located from the Carolinas to Texas have the stone marker for reasons of preserving the history of our nation. Please continue to let freedom ring!
