The solution is Initiative 861. I-861 is life terms for violent sex offenses. I-861 does three things: 1. Classifies certain crimes as violent sex offenses. 2. Sentences those convicted of a violent sex offense to life in prison without parole. 3. Changes the current sentence of 60 months for “violent sexual predator escape” to life in prison without parole. What this means is no second chances.
