I am a liberal Democrat, but putting political leanings aside, I believe each man and woman of good conscience who dons the uniform of the U.S. military is a hero — whether embattled or not.
With that said, I am dismayed that not even one “hero” called-out (loudly and repeatedly) the sanctified name, John S. McCain, at the signing of the latest military appropriations bill named The John S. McCain National Defense Authorization act for our dying, heroic U.S. senator, who’s name — for spiteful reasons — went unmentioned by the commander-in-chief of our armed forces.
I can only suspect that the attending heroic personnel had been ordered by “superiors” to only applaud the outsized EKG-like signature of the heartless coward, who — due to his wealthy station in life — never wore a military uniform, nor spent a moment as a prisoner of war like John McCain, who refused to use his father’s influence in order to be released early, until all his captured brothers-in-arms would too be released. Now that is heroism.
Shame on the suspected “superiors,” who ordered applause only for the signature on the authorization act, which more appropriately should appear as an EKG flat line.
I pray the number 45 forever be stricken from our presidential role of numeration.
