Regarding the Saturday article, “Same-sex marriage bill just two votes shy of majority in state Senate”: I want to thank the executive director of The Family Policy Institute of Washington, who is against legalizing same-sex marriage, for so clearly stating the issue.
He says the idea that the law should recognize no difference between heterosexual and homosexual relationships would be based on the false idea there is no difference between men and women. Of course there are differences between men and women and yet the law treats them identically. In the same way the law should treat all marriages identically, regardless of the sexual orientation of the people being married.
