Thank you to the 2003 Kla Ha Ya Days Festival Committee from the Snohomish Chamber of Commerce-sponsored CDCC (Community Development and Coordinating Committee). Committee members represent the service clubs and organizations in the Snohomish area.
The 2003 Kla Ha Ya Days festival carried on the true community of Snohomish, family festival tradition, dating back to the 1930s. It is true that there would not be much about the current festival that resembles the humble first years of the Kla Ha Ya Days festival, but the spirit of community fun and excitement sure remains.
The restructured 2003 Kla Ha Ya Days committee had a reorganized board of directors with mostly new members volunteering from the Snohomish business community and local service organizations. The board, led by President Randy Spoo, and volunteers from local service groups and clubs did a commendable job of presenting a weekend venue of fabulous events.
The “Fire in the Sky” balloon display, fireworks and concert were enjoyed by hundreds of spectators. A wonderful hometown Kla Ha Ya Days morning parade brought out the crowd, the ever popular frog jump and other event contests kept the competition fund and most friendly, the early Saturday morning river run/walk was well attended. An exciting Sunday car show gave car enthusiasts a great day. The art walk was added to this year’s schedule and is sure to be a favorite for years to come. Let’s not forget the great food and arts and crafts booths that are always crowd pleasers. Imagine the coordination and behind-the-scenes work!
The CDCC just wants Randy Spoo and his board of directors to know they are applauded and appreciated for giving Snohomish a festival with something for everyone of any age to enjoy.
