After reading the Wednesday letter, “Remember, Boeing also taketh away,” regarding the Monstrous Greedy Boeing, I’m almost in tears.
How dare they increase the cost of health care? Oh, did I mention that we had our own business for 20 years and paid all our own health care? Not to mention, we started it with our own money. Or that any company I worked for before that provided zero health care, or retirement?
Lump sum bonuses, what are those? I would have been happy if I received an extra $100 at Christmas, but that didn’t happen either, even though we had the most profitable division.
The last paragraph of the letter states, “In the end Boeing is recording record profits in the billions — because of the Machinists.” Doesn’t Boeing have other unions? I didn’t know the Machinists ran that company so completely.
We put in 80-hour weeks on a regular basis, so all this crying and moaning and gnashing of teeth means very little to me.
One last question: Who has put up the millions, or billions, of dollars over the long haul to propel this company to where it is today? Is it the Machinists? I’m guessing not!
