A front-page headline in Friday’s Herald reads “State plans to make I-5 quieter, prettier.” Although it does not give the price of the 3.4 miles of wall itself, I am sure it is in the millions. This project would benefit few, while many other projects go unfunded (like Highway 9 or the mess on I-5 by Marysville; and I’m sure many other roads in the state) that would benefit thousands.
This is a very poor choice in spending tax dollars when a vote on the gas tax increase is coming soon. It may be a very good reason to vote for the repeal of the tax.
