I agree with the Tuesday letter about the driver who killed a woman the other night — he gets out just because he doesn’t pose a flight threat? (“Freeing suspect lacks logic, justice.“)
Yet, you cheat on your taxes, drive on a suspended license, and even murder someone, and you hardly do any time behind bars.
I think that the judge and prosecutor and even the court appointed attorney that let him go should be held accountable.
What a slap in the face of the woman’s family and friends.
The old adage, “If you do the crime, do the time,” should apply here. It’s time for some changes in the legal system.
Only in America. Look at the justice systems in other countries and it makes sense why there are so many criminals in this country.
