I’ve lived in Everett’s View Ridge neighborhood for over 36 years. I still see the water, but it’s slowly disappearing for growing trees. I can’t imagine living anywhere else or wanting to. I can still hear the coyotes howl at night, the seals when they bark on the jetty, the rumble of the trains and the occasional fog horn from a ferry or other ship.
I’m disappointed and envious that I can’t hear the bugle calls, since I live only a stone’s throw from the Naval Station. All those sounds are comforting; they don’t keep me awake or bother me. It’s a part of where I live, and I love it.
What’s next, get rid of the trains, the ferries, kill all the seals and the coyotes? Did I just come up with another idea for someone’s half-empty head?
