In 1979 Jeane Kirkpatrick said, “Vietnam presumably taught us that the United States could not serve as the world’s policeman; it should also have taught us the dangers of trying to be the world’s midwife to democracy when the birth is scheduled to take place under conditions of guerrilla war.”
“Out Now.” It was the right idea in 1968 and it’s right in 2004. What part of “Out Now” is hard to understand or hard for us to say? When we make a serious mistake we need to admit that to ourselves and try to make things better. I think it is better to buy oil with dollars than steal it or pay with blood and national bankruptcy.
